Inca Trail – 4 Days

Day 1 : Cusco – Piscacucho – Huayllabamba

Early this morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you by bus to the km 82 where we’ll start our trekking. We’ll walk about two hours before arriving to the Patallacta archeological site, enjoying beautiful views on Veronica mountain and the Vilcanota river. We’ll have lunch and rest and then we’ll keep walking until we reach Huayllabamba where we’ll set our first camp.

Hiking time : 6h

Height difference : +500m

Day 2 : Huayllabamba – Warmiwañusca pass – Pacaymayo

After breakfast, we’ll start the hardest part of the trekking since we’ll have to go up to 4,200m high. The views on the mountain chains are incredible. And then, after lunch, we’ll start our way down to Pacaymayo where we’ll set our second camp (3,600m)

Height difference : +1100m et -600m

Day 3 : Pacaymayo – Runcuracay – Sayacmarca – Phuyupatamarca – Wiñay Wayna

After breakfast, early in the morning, we’ll reach Runcuracay complex, discovered by Hiram Binghan in 1915. After visiting the site, we’ll keep walking to another pass which gives us wonderful views on the Pacaymayo valley and many snow-covered peaks. Then we’ll go down and reach the third archeological site of the trekking : Sayacmarca (3,540m). Thirty minutes later, we’ll have lunch in Chaquicocha. In the afternoon, we’ll head to the Phuyu Patamarca archeological site (3,650m) and then we’ll start our way down to Wiñayhuayna (2,700m) where we’ll spend the night.

Height difference : +500m et -1300m

Day 4 : Wiñay Wayna – Machu Picchu – Cuzco

We’ll wake up very early this morning in order to be the first at the Sun gate after hiking 1h30. This is the first time we’ll see Machu Picchu! One km getting down and we’ll be in the citadel. We’ll have a guided visit of Machu Picchu during 2 to 3 hours. Then you’ll have some free time to walk around and enjoy more this wonder. Finally we’ll go down to Aguas Calientes village in order to take the train back to Cuzco.
