Llachon- Titicaca 2D

foodtravel date

This trekking is for people searching for real authenticity and willing to discover the Titicaca Lake off the beaten track. Indeed, very few tourists know this peninsula that is just facing the 2 main touristic islands where everybody goes (Amantani and Taquile Islands). From there, you can also go to the Uros Titino islands which are the last inhabited floating ones. Once again, tourists don’t go to those ones. So don’t hesitate a second!

Trek Llachon – Titicaca 2j

Day 1:  Puno/Juliaca – Capachica (Llachon Peninsula)

We leave in the morning either from Puno or Juliaca (depending on where you overstayed the day before) to Capachica where we’ll start our hike of the day! From there, we shall need about 4 hours to reach Llachon village and its beach, going through nice and remote small villages full of local people. We’ll cross beautiful landscapes and the views on Titicaca Lake most of the time are just incredible! In the afternoon, we can rest on the beach and then we’ll go up to the highest point of the peninsula to enjoy a wonderful sunset on the lake. This 360° panorama viewpoint is amazing as it’s facing Amantani and Taquile Islands. Then we’ll go down for dinner and for a relaxing night.

Transport : 1h15 by bus

Height difference : 300+ and 300-

Jour 2 : Llachon – Capachica – Puno/Juliaca

In the morning, we’ll head to the Uros Titino floating Islands on a small boat. Those islands are the last inhabited ones by Aymara people. They will explain us how they managed to build them and show us their lifestyle mainly based on fishing and hunting.

Then we’ll have the possibility (optional) to navigate on a handmade sail ! And after lunch we’ll come back to Puno or Juliaca by local bus…
